Dr. Ajit Abraham joined the faculty of College Nine at UC Santa Cruz in 2016 as a Core Lecturer, where he teaches courses in Global and International Perspectives. He currently serves as the College Nine Core Course Coordinator, supporting the development and delivery of the college’s interdisciplinary global curriculum.
In addition to his work at UC Santa Cruz, Dr. Abraham teaches at California State University, Monterey Bay in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. His interdisciplinary teaching and research interests include religion and globalization, labor and social movements, global politics, postcolonial studies, philosophy, and ethics.
Dr. Abraham is Assistant Editor of the Journal of Developing Societies (SAGE) and remains actively engaged in public and professional service. He is a member of the California Faculty Association (CFA), UCAFT, and the Coalition for Asian Justice (CAJ), Monterey Bay.
Beyond the classroom, he enjoys traveling, artwork, hiking, cooking, biking, and swimming.
