Film and Digital Media
I am a media scholar, writer and filmmaker whose work is focused on documentary/experimental film practice and media theory. My current writings and film projects examine how memory projects like cultural resource management, archaeological media, monuments, and memorials expand the state and community power to develop, redevelop, control, and manage land. I have also written about realism and the environment in video game design; and the relationship between online self-actualization communities and the environmental uncertainties of contemporary capitalism.
I am a 4rd year PhD student in Film and Digital Media. I am a graduate of Concordia University's English and Creative Writing program, and was a Marcus graduate fellow in Cinema Studies at San Francisco State University, where I earned my MA. My writing has appeared in the UK-based digital journal DiSCo and Senses of Cinema. A fiction author, my work has also appeared in the online experimental literary journals Sleepingfish and Fanzine. My 2022 film, The Seismic Properties of Cloud Computing premiered at Mimesis Documentary Film Festival.
