I study soil biogeochemistry with a focus on how nitrogen moves, transforms, and becomes available in agricultural systems. My research examines organic nitrogen dynamics across scales, from root–soil interactions to field-level losses and broader management contexts. I use a combination of field studies, controlled experiments, and novel measurement techniques to better capture these processes. My work aims to improve how nitrogen is measured and managed in increasingly organic-matter–driven agricultural systems.
