My doctoral project maps the relationship between Hmong shamanism, landscapes, medicine, and nonhuman beings in Hmong refugee diasporas across the United States and Southeast Asia. Through ethnography, I examine how these complex material, spiritual, spatial, and ecological worlds come together in moments of medicine and healing, whether in biomedical clinics, agrarian lands, or shamanic ritual spaces.
